It sounds like Jolie wants all women to unlock their full potential in life by understanding their true value!

The virtual discussion with the former Secretary of State was moderated by Mika Brzezinski for the National Democratic Institute and it was meant to bring awareness that there are countless of social factors that manage to hold women back.

‘Women contribute so much, they’re giving, nurturing by nature, they are community-building by nature, strong, intelligent, and yet what’s it that is holding us back? I think that when you speak of value, that is something to really sit with. Why’s it that so many women still do not know their own value?’ the actress started.

She went on: ‘What is it that has been done to us, whether it be rapes and lack of accountability for the rape, whether it be domestic violence, whether it be … this question where we are still saying, ‘Please stop hurting me,’ and ‘Please hold somebody to account if they hurt me.’’

The full discussion was also shared on Twitter by the National Democratic Institute.

In response to what Angie had to say, the former Secretary of State pointed out that one important result of empowering women is having more ‘women that are able to make a political difference by running for office,’ as well as ‘being part of the decision-making mechanism.’

It’s no secret that Angelina Jolie has been using her voice on many such topics for years but perhaps more than ever during this COVID-19 pandemic.

The actress has also shown her support to the Black Lives Matter movement not too long ago, donating no less than $200,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund amid the protests following the killing of George Floyd.
